Most sleep approaches work around the brain. Neurofeedback may work with it. Instead of trying to create the conditions for sleep from the outside, we aim to help the brain learn to create them from the inside. What We May See in the Brain

Some brains may be running too activated to make the shift into sleep. The frontal lobe is meant to quiet at night. When it may stay busy, reviewing, processing, replaying, the rest of the brain can have a harder time following. This is a common pattern behind the classic exhausted but wired experience.
The Brain That Learned Idling May Not Be Safe
Some nervous systems learned, often early and often without conscious awareness, that slowing down was associated with danger. If staying alert meant staying safe, the brain may have internalized a rule: do not stop. For some people, difficulty with sleep may not be purely physiological.
